World’s largest touring production confirms use of cutting-edge sound format technology
Cannes, May 14 2015: Wilfried Van Baelen’s Auro Technologies announced today that it its leading immersive sound format Auro-3D® has been employed on ODYSSEO 3D by Cavalia. The live recording of the world’s largest touring production got its World Premiere at Cannes International Film Festival on Thursday 14th May at 1.30pm at Olympia 7.
Directed by Sung-Bok Myron Jung, and produced by Korean production outfit Fabulous, Odysseo 3D marries live theatre, the equestrian arts, and cutting-edge technology in a highly innovative live performance. The show, featuring an incredible 65 horses and 45 artists, was shot in the US last October entirely in 4K resolution. The deal also incorporates Van Baelen’s Auro Technologies, ensuring the revolutionary immersive sound format Auro-3D® is employed across all of the upcoming three pictures.
Richard Elfman’s first film under the Galaxy/Auro-3D® deal will be a sequel to his wildly successful cult hit, the musical/fantasy FORBIDDEN ZONE. Chennai, India, 16 April 2015 – Digital cinema leader Barco and US-based digital cinema server manufacturer Qube Cinema have reached an agreement on the integration of the ‘Auro 11.1 by Barco’ decoder in Qube’s integrated media blocks (IMB). This decision is a major step forward for both companies, ensuring a smooth upgrade to the Barco Auro 11.1 immersive sound system for theater owners and cinema chains.
Qube Cinema – a subsidiary of India-based cinema technology leader Real Image Technologies – manufactures digital cinema servers for commercial and institutional cinemas worldwide. Qube server is the leading server in India on the Digital Cinema platform.

The two companies joined forces at The Village Studios in Los Angeles to give Recording Academy Producer & Engineer Wing guests an immersive Auro-3D audio experience.
British loudspeaker manufacturer PMC played a key part in ensuring that the US Recording Academy’s Producers & Engineers Wing got the 2015 GRAMMY Week celebrations off to a flying start.
PMC is a Silver Sponsor of the P&E Wing’s annual party at The Village Studios in Los Angeles, an event that traditionally kicks off GRAMMY Week and regularly attracts over 500 industry VIPs.
All sponsors are given the opportunity to host a technical demonstration and in PMC’s case this took the form of a joint presentation with Auro Technologies, which showcased its Auro-3D audio format. Five PMC twotwo.8 monitors, four twotwo.6 monitors and a twotwo.sub2 active subwoofer were positioned around The Village Studio’s Studio A live room in an Auro 9.1 configuration to create the Auro-3D effect of an enveloping cocoon of sound. The flagship AV processor Auro-3D Mensa was on hand to create the best possible immersive sonic experience.
