Why Sound in 3D?
THREE-DIMENSIONAL SOUND IN SPACE – AN OVERVIEW
We live in a world of three-dimensional sound. Our natural acoustical environment possesses a rich variety of audio reflections that allows our brains to position sound sources correctly. Unfortunately, traditional recording and reproduction methods have failed to capture this real-life 3D information. We have become accustomed to hearing Stereo and Surround technologies which are nowhere near the fidelity of what we experience in daily life.
